Resilience is the ability to adapt to changes and crises in one’s life. It is the ability to push on when the cards are stacked against you, endure and persevere in the face of pressure and simply don’t give up. The good news is that we all can learn to do it as human beings are naturally adaptable. The challenge that greets us happens when we learn to be helpless when faced with crises. Instead of utilizing our inner wisdom, endurance and patience, we forsake these because of certain events that push us to the brink of giving up on ourselves and others. We start feeling like a failure, lacking in qualities and competencies to defend and pull us back to where we need to be. Fret not, there is a way out for all of us.
Discover why some people are more resilient than others and what gets them ahead of the pack. How do such people ascend to high performance while their counterparts languish and stay in mediocrity? With advancement in technology and knowledge, we have not necessarily increased our capacity to cope with mental and emotional challenges that come with it. Managers and employees need to be trained to discover their latent resources and practice Resilience building blocks which are steps discovered by AL Siebert who was commissioned by the US government to study amongst others, returning soldiers form the Vietnam war. He discovered why certain soldiers survived and thrived while others crumbled and never recovered.
Our potential stretches as far as we choose to bring it. While resilience seems like the ability to cope in pressure situation with mental and emotional processes and tools, wellbeing, purpose, self-confidence are key features too. Through anecdotes, exercises and examples, Granville will detail a unique perspective and teach you critical building blocks by raising your resilience bar through activities, reflective exercises and practice.
